Sloping steeply away steeply from the house this garden is on several levels. A new smaller hardwood deck with wider steps to the main seating area below was built to provide more inviting access to the garden as well as a place for the BBQ and small bar area. This was softened by new planting beds providing both screening and year round interest. Further down the garden there is a new shady seating area with a swing seat, a separate storage area for bikes and the garden shed. Gates at both ends of the garden provide convenient access. This large garden is a update and maintenance project started in Autumn 2020. The client is a keen gardener, but wanted to simplify some of the planting and update the overgrown borders. New Perennials, Shrubs and Spring bulbs have been added over the last two seasons to provide year round interest and colour.
An ongoing project started in late 2021 restoring a large walled garden. The pictures show a new drought tolerant grass and perennial border planted in March 2022 together with restoration and planting of a woodland area the same Autumn. Check back to see all the bulbs and other areas of the garden in Spring 2023. Landscaping by Green Spaces London
The clients were very fed up with looking out on a mostly paved garden with many different levels and tiered hard landscaping. They were keen to both maintain their unique view over the adjacent canal and to keep some privacy. We created a contemporary design using Corten Steel screening for the two seating areas and slate paving complimenting the architecture and period of the house. A
Cornus mas tree gives very early colour, together with naturalistic and drought resistant planting reflective of the surroundings. Built by HOS Landscapes.
The client is a keen gardener, but was fed up with what was an uninspiring space. The garden was designed on a 45 degree angle with steps up to a seating area. A light coloured stone, (Mint Sandstone) was chosen to lighten the North East facing aspect.
